Visited with Simon and Spencer
This tunnel was driven to de-water a number of mines in the area in which it is located. It ends in a nasty collapse a couple of hundred yards into the tunnel. It's okay if you like knackers deep water and tunnels that end in a collapse. Gas detector read 17% oxygen and the lowest and 9% combustible gasses. It's always nice to take a gas detector on a trip, if only to scare everyone present by the constant bleeping of the dammed thing.
